Nestled within quiet Carroll Valley on the outskirts of Fairfield in Adams County, Pennsylvania, Taverna 5450 offers upscale dining in a casual environment. Inside Taverna 5450, we offer a family dining area on one side of the facility and a lounge on the other. We have opened a full scale wine store offering different wines from around the globe along with delicate sweets and your essential wine drinking necessities.

Outside, you will find our 42' by 42' patio deck with seating for 70 where you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the front side slopes of Ski Liberty. Taverna 5450 offers live entertainment on the weekends as well as numerous special events throughout the year. Whether you are here skiing/snowboarding/snowtubing in the winter months or golfing in the summer; a member of our local community or just passing through, it would be our pleasure to serve you!

Kalathas Family

Storytelling

The Kalathas family has been in the restaurant industry since 1967, when Nick's father, Tom, opened the Historic Texas Lunch in Chambersburg, PA. The family also opened a fine dining restaurant and banquet facility in 1995. The Orchard's Restaurant and Relax Lounge are also located in Chambersburg. Nick and LaShay have four children and are residents of Fairfield, PA. In 2010 Nick and LaShay purchased The Four Season's Restaurant in Fairfield, PA.

Cuisine

Taverna is a Greek word used to describe a small café or pub in Greece. Taverna 5450 offers New American Cuisine, and a few Greek Specialties. Taverna provides high quality products such as Certified Black Angus Beef and Hawaiian Ahi Tuna at reasonable prices. Taverna offers fine dining in the dining room, relaxed lounge seating, or patio dining in a casual envirionment.

Staff

Executive chef and proprietor Nick Kalathas, a 2000 graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY leads the culinary team.

Nick's wife and co proprietor, LaShay Kalathas, is a 1997 graduate of Penn State University, and a 2002 graduate of Shippensburg University who manages the service staff is also a mixologist with many signature cocktails in her repertoire.
